I've only owned this item for approximately 24 hours, but it has made all the difference. My bedroom is right above the stable with poor insulation, so my bedroom is all the time too cold in the winter and too hot in the summers. It took a merge of hours to assuredly warm up m bedroom, but by the morning my bedroom was incredibly warm. I'm not assuredly sure what smell the first reviewers were complaining about, there was no plastic exterior in my packaging and no assembly required what so ever. I have had no issues with smell at all. I would definitely propose this to friend, especially for the price. Be forewarned the it is incredibly hot to the touch, so place it where you want it to be before you turn it on. The only suspect I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is because it did not go above and beyond as far as space heaters go.
